Or you could be held by your wrists and slowly lowered into the water...

Uh, I'm definitely not the flinging type. I guess I used to be when I was younger, but now I like to take my time to adjust. Less shocking for me, plus I don't want to startle the locals underwater, haha.

I really appreciate this piece. Again - perfect timing since I'm once again in that awful transition period and once again I'm asking myself- why do I do this to myself....

Haha!

Transitions always suck and always teach us things and that will never really feel like a consolation until it is over.

Really appreciate how this reframes transitions as something you work through not something that just happens to you. The flinging yourself in approach def resonates, I've done the slow dip thing maybe twice in my life and both times I just ended up overthinking untill I jumped anyway. That metaphor about being a moth surrounded by blinding lights after the butterfly phase is perfect.

Oh I completely get it. Sometimes I make a concerted effort to try and carefully work through things and inevitably over think it.

Ha! Thanks I loved that line too and it’s always fun to see it resonate for others. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.
